1- What documentation do I need to access the monument?
The Palace of Versailles does not require the presentation of a valid identity document with the tickets. However, it is recommended that you carry some documentation to identify yourself in case it is necessary. If your ticket has a discount or special rate, be sure to bring the relevant document proving your condition.
2- How do I get to the Palace of Versailles?
The Palace of Versailles is well connected to Paris and can be easily visited by public transport or by car.
- Train: RER C to Versailles Château-Rive Gauche. A 5 min walk from the palace.
- Car: About 40 min from Paris. Paid parking at Place d’Armes, in front of the main entrance.
- Bus: Line 171 from Pont de Sèvres to Versailles-Place d’Armes.
The complex has several entrance areas, depending on the part of the palace or gardens you wish to visit.
- Main entrance: Cour d’Honneur (access from Place d’Armes).
- Gardens: side entrance from Place d’Armes.
- Trianon and Domaine de Marie-Antoinette: access within the park, about 20-30 minutes walk from the main palace.
3- Can I bring the tickets in digital format?
Yes, no problem. You can bring your tickets in any digital format as long as they are official tickets and are legible.
4- Do children need tickets?
Yes, don’t forget to include them in your reservation because everyone needs to present their ticket to access the park. Without a ticket you will be denied access to the monument.
5- Can I modify or cancel my tickets?
Each product has its own cancellation and exchange policy.
6- Can I exercise my right of withdrawal?
No, as stated in Law 3/2014, of March 27, which amends the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of November 16. As it is well indicated in its article 103, regarding the exceptions to the right of withdrawal:
l) The provision of lodging services for purposes other than housing, transportation of goods, car rental, food or services related to leisure activities, if the contracts provide for a specific date or period of performance.
7- In case of making a reservation with AUDIO GUIDE
Depending on the monument you visit, you will pick up the audio guide at the monument’s ticket office or you will receive credentials with your tickets to use it in app format. Most monuments offer the audio guide in app format, so be sure to bring a smartphone with enough battery and space to install and use the app during the visit. We recommend that you bring your own headphones.
